Tirokafteri is Greece’s answer to a spicy cheese dip: whipped feta, roasted red pepper, and a kick of chili, blended until fluffy. It comes together in five minutes flat and disappears just as fast alongside warm pita or raw vegetables.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup roasted red pepper, drained
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1 small hot chili pepper or 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Blend
Combine the feta, yogurt, roasted red pepper, olive oil, chili, garlic, and lemon juice in a food processor. Blend until smooth and fluffy, scraping down the sides as needed, about 1 minute. - Adjust
Taste and adjust the heat and acidity to your liking, adding more chili for spicier or a touch more lemon for brightness. - Serve
Spread onto a plate, drizzle with olive oil, and serve with warm pita, cucumber, or crackers.
