Frappé is Greece’s frothy, iced instant coffee, whipped until foamy and served over ice. It’s the unofficial drink of Greek summer, and it takes about two minutes to make.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2-3 tablespoons cold water
- Ice cubes
- Cold water or milk, to top up
Instructions
- Whip
Combine instant coffee, sugar, and cold water in a shaker or use a hand mixer. Shake or beat vigorously for about 1 minute, until thick and foamy. - Pour
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and pour the foam over the top. - Top up
Add cold water (or milk for a creamier version) to fill the glass, leaving the foam on top. Serve with a straw.
